Pocket Film Lab (ages 12-15)

$300.00

Lights, camera… smartphone! In this hands-on filmmaking class, students will explore the core elements of powerful short films—story structure, visual composition, editing, and emotion—through collaborative analysis and creative play. Together, we’ll study iconic on-screen moments to uncover what makes them work, then put that knowledge into action. Each student will write, shoot, and edit their own original short film using only a smartphone or tablet. No big cameras. No excuses. Just bold ideas, real storytelling, and the tools you already carry.
*
Students must have their own device to use–no devices will be distributed by Stagecraft.

⚠️ Parents/Guardians are strongly advised to look into the following films before registering. We will be watching, dissecting, and discussing scenes from the following films: the Hunger Games, the Perks of Being A Wallflower, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Akeelah and the Bee, The Hate U Give, Dead Poets Society, Life of Pi

  • Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00

  • August 6 - November 5 (2hrs/wk for 16 weeks= 32 hours)

  • Performance November 12 @ 6

  • 32 hours / $300.00= $9.38 per class ($4.69 per hour)
