Why give?

  • Nationwide school cuts: Roughly 55% of U.S. school districts (about 7,000 out of 12,546) have significantly reduced or eliminated arts programs—representing around $19.5 billion in lost arts funding annually

  • State-level declines: Adjusted for inflation, U.S. public school arts funding dropped 43.4% by 2019

  • At the federal level, the FY 2026 U.S. budget proposal included a 15% cut ($12 billion) to the Department of Education, resulting in $4.5 billion less for K–12 programs—including arts

  • Return on investment: Arts funding yields academic improvements, higher civic engagement, economic vitality, and long-term societal benefits.

  • Equity imperative: Investment helps close racial, socioeconomic, and geographic gaps in arts access.

  • Diversity in creative fields: Cuts disproportionately affect working-class and minority students, risking a less inclusive cultural landscape
