The Transformation Lab (Ages 13+)

Movie monsters. Broadway witches. Aging makeup. Fantasy creatures. Realistic injuries. Period characters.

Every incredible transformation begins with an artist who understands how essential makeup is to successful storytelling.

Transformation Lab is an immersive introduction to the world of theatrical, special effects, and character makeup. Students will learn professional techniques used in theatre, film, haunted attractions, cosplay, and live entertainment while developing the artistic eye needed to transform performers into believable characters.

More than simply applying makeup, students will explore why certain design choices support a story, how color, texture, and shape communicate personality, and how makeup can completely change the way an audience experiences a performance.

Students will complete increasingly challenging makeup projects while receiving personalized feedback, developing both technical skills and artistic confidence.

Each class emphasizes creativity, experimentation, and collaboration in a supportive studio environment where mistakes become discoveries and every project is an opportunity to push artistic boundaries.

By the end of the session, students will have created a portfolio of original makeup designs and developed foundational techniques that can be applied to theatre productions, filmmaking, cosplay, haunted attractions, photography, conventions, and future professional makeup training.
