The Green Room (Ages 17+)
Every actor has a story. It's time to tell yours.
Whether you've always dreamed of stepping onto the stage, miss performing after years away, or you're looking to sharpen your craft for auditions and productions, The Green Room is your place to grow.
Inspired by the backstage space where actors gather before the curtain rises, this welcoming, conservatory-style acting class combines professional training with an encouraging ensemble atmosphere where creativity, curiosity, and taking risks are celebrated.
Through scene work, monologue coaching, improvisation, character development, and collaborative performance exercises, students will build confidence while exploring some of the most influential acting techniques used by performers around the world.
Drawing inspiration from legendary practitioners including Uta Hagen, Constantin Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Michael Chekhov, and others, students will discover a variety of acting approaches while developing their own authentic process.
Rather than teaching one "correct" method, The Green Room encourages actors to experiment, ask questions, and discover the tools that work best for them.
Throughout the session, students will explore:
🎭 Scene study and partner work
🎤 Contemporary monologue coaching
🎬 Character development and script analysis
🎨 Improvisation and spontaneous storytelling
📖 Breaking down a script into playable actions and objectives
❤️ Emotional truth and authentic performance
🗣 Voice, physicality, and stage presence
🎯 Audition preparation and cold reading
🎬 Ensemble critique and collaborative feedback
🎭 Professional rehearsal etiquette and actor collaboration
Students will participate in guided performances, ensemble discussions, mock rehearsals, and personalized coaching while developing practical skills they can immediately apply to community theatre, professional auditions, film, voiceover, or simply enjoying the craft of acting.
Whether your goal is landing your next role or finally trying something you've always wanted to do, every class is designed to challenge, inspire, and support you.

Why Adult Acting?
Acting is more than performing. It's about listening. Observing. Connecting. Taking risks. Working with others. And discovering parts of yourself you never knew existed.
The skills developed through acting—communication, empathy, confidence, adaptability, creativity, and emotional intelligence—carry into every part of life, whether you're standing on a stage, leading a meeting, interviewing for a job, or simply becoming a more confident version of yourself.
You don't have to dream of Broadway to benefit from actor training.
Sometimes the greatest performance is learning to show up as yourself.
No Experience? Perfect.
The Green Room is built for complete beginners and experienced performers alike. Every exercise can be adapted to meet students where they are, allowing newcomers to build a strong foundation while giving experienced actors fresh challenges and new perspectives.
Whether it's your first acting class or your fiftieth, you'll leave each week with new tools, greater confidence, and a supportive ensemble cheering you on.
Because every great performance begins in the Green Room... and every great actor begins by saying "yes" to the first step.
