Anyone can play the hero.

But what does it take to play the character everyone remembers?

The greatest villains aren't evil for the sake of being evil.

They're charismatic. Complicated. Driven. Sometimes heartbreaking. Sometimes hilarious.

And they almost never believe they're the villain.

In Antagonist's Academy, students will explore the psychology, physicality, and artistry behind theatre's most unforgettable antagonists while developing advanced acting techniques that strengthen every performance they give—whether they're cast as the hero, the villain, or somewhere in between.

Through scene study, improvisation, movement, vocal exploration, and character analysis, students will learn how professional actors build layered, believable characters whose motivations are as compelling as their actions.

We'll explore villains from classical theatre, Shakespeare, Broadway, film, television, and contemporary plays to discover what makes audiences fascinated by the characters they love to hate.

Throughout the session, students will explore:

Students will participate in collaborative rehearsals, acting exercises, mock performances, and personalized coaching designed to help them create performances that are nuanced, dynamic, and unforgettable.

Rather than creating one-dimensional "bad guys," students will learn how to portray fully realized human beings whose choices feel truthful—even when they're morally questionable.
